How much fun was that??!! Thanks to all my teammates for making it a great day. Special thanks to Matt for capturing it all on video and Dan-O for bringing up the gear storage van. Who wants to do Englishtown??!! :-)
What an exhilarating way to spend the day! Thanks to Jax for mentioning TM in passing one morning (and the smokin' t-shirt design); thanks to all you freak shows for signing-up w/out hesitation & rockin' that event in true CFer form; thanks to Dan for taking the organizing bullshit by the horns; thanks to Kaag & Matt D for putting us through our paces every GD time we show-up to Bldg 7 - and thanks to Kaag for creating a culture & camaraderie amongst all of us that makes a challenge like that totally doable!
Awesome video montage MJD - how'd you get all that footage? Cloning? Apparating? Time traveling?
MikeL suggested that I rest in the air...and it worked. The video doesn't do it justice...how ridiculously cool the sea of CF IMABLE shirts was...hanging tough and having fun
I was in and out during the day with kids' activities, but I kept checking in on the computer when I had a chance as they had live video footage of people coming across the finish. Unfortunately I missed seeing you all finish, BUT I did see a bunch of people w/ orange or red head sweatbands on standing after the finish...couldn't make out faces tho..but upon seeing these pics and video, I'm thinking that was all of you?
Thanks to everyone for helping to make yesterday a great one for Mike and me. We so appreciate everyone's positive karma & comraderie. Also, to Chris & Matt for their kick ass training & Matt for running a Tough Mudder and a Half getting the video-doubling back is NEVER fun...we are so fortunate to have CF as part of our lives, mentally, physically & socially!! Maria N.
There are so many folks to thank, and I hope I do not miss anyone, Chris and Matt for taking us where we wouldn't go alone, Dan-O for organizing, and being a general smart-ass and keeping everything light, you made it that much more enjoyable, Matt J for an awesome T-shirt, Gretchen for bailing me out when my inhaler failed, Karla for the awesome job of face-painting, Mike N, for driving a bunch of muddy, stinky, and sweaty mudders home from the field of battle, everyone who ran and helped encourage and support the group, Mere for yelling down the path to make sure I was ok, even if some of the other competitors thought she was crazy..:)..Chris and Gretch for a relaxing and fun end to a great day; and I really wasn't in trouble in the water, really, I was ok, except maybe for that snake Matt D was messing with..:).. and that massive guy in the speedo who just about tossed me over that first wall, if I wouldn't have grabbed a hold at the top I wouldn't have touched wood...Yikes!!! That guy was a FREAK, but as DJ, said we are all freaks, so I guess it was appropriate, and Matt D again, you are a true leader and you always go out of your way to make sure everyone is ok and get some great footage along the way, too all, I say, Thank you from my heart, the best time with the best people!!
