Kelly Wednesday Form

Kelly: 5 rds
400m
30 Box Jump
30 Wall Ball

Wondertwin powers activate: Form of….a circle.
A circle? Yes, but not just any circle – an Enso: A single brushstroke to create a circle that is at once complete and endless; full and empty; perfect and imperfect; moving and stagnant. Nothing in the enso exists separately from the whole – everything is part of something bigger...more than the sum of the parts. Kind of like the participants in a CF circuit!

At the most basic level, the mere presence of each one of us adds to the dynamic atmosphere of the whole CF experience. At the next level, the positive contribution of each person giving their best effort has an immense impact on the class – the ‘takeaway’ if you will. Ultimately, it’s what we get from each other, though, that is most significant and puts CK's CF experience in a class all by itself. And THAT is why those who ‘get it’ keep circling back and back and back for more. Are you getting it?

"Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A word of optimism and hope. And 'you can do it' when things are tough.”

You hear it from the CF regulars..."let's go" "pick it up" "you got it" "dig" "keep moving" during the circuit...and at the end "nice push" "well done" "great job". Advanced or Beginner....when working rightly at CF you're exhausted, nauseous, and delirious...and it's that quick, positive mental pick-me-up that makes the difference between getting a few more reps and pausing.

As Hero/Girl Week circles around, we're all beyond recovery, beyond soreness, pain, discomfort, ache-i-ness, and fatigue. So, we ALL need a little more of this positiveness. Send around some cooperative selflessness – the desire to make yourself better, and as important, to make others better, too. As you go around the circle or as you're circling through your rounds, remember, if you are THERE, you are an integral part of IT…give to get and it will be returned to you!

This is a terrific post, and I think one of the most phenomenal aspects of CF...one that many if not all of the Sunday CFers have mentioned as to one of the many reasons they come to CF. I like the whole Enso theme...maybe something to incorporate into CF as a new theme..a new mantra...I don't know...but it is just soooo true of everyone and everything at CF.

Good point...that seemed to be a theme of the CFers!
And here's an early Challenge Award...17 degress?! On Kelly, the lungs go from fire to ice!

Oh heck...17 degrees was downright balmy compared to yesterday's wind that made it feel like 12 degrees!

Excellent post Matt, the circle is the symbol that represents life, death, and rebirth, and the never-ending cycle of life. I think that part of what happens at CF is that parts of our life that are no longer beneficial, be it thoughts or beliefs about what we are capable of, gradually fall away and are replaced by new beliefs that we can do more than we ever thought possible. And the more we give away the more we take in. What I know is this; I see folks every time I am there that are doing more than they were before. CF to me is a microcosm of what the world could be like if people worked, sweated, suffered, endured, encouraged, supported, laughed and cried together, instead of spending endless hours thinking only about the "self" and what's in it for me. You can't give away what you don't have, and the people who come have a lot to give away, which to me says a lot about the quality of those folks who do come!!

Awesome insights, Livewrong.

Are you hitting the 4p Kelly?

"CF to me is a microcosm of what the world could be like if people worked, sweated, suffered, endured, encouraged, supported, laughed and cried together, instead of spending endless hours thinking only about the "self" and what's in it for me." I love this, JJ! So, so true.

Think about our interdependence on one another over the course of 1 single hour. Whoosh! Then, think about it over the duration of weeks / months / seasons / years - for some of us, it's been THAT long! I know I'm a much stronger individual (physically and mentally) after 5+ years as a CFer!!!! Reminds me of that silly friendship poem: Growth for a reason, growth for a season, growth for a lifetime.

Matt, 4pm, you bet!!! I will be there!

JD, yes it's very synergistic, the results are compounded over time. It does not happen overnight. I think that is a key point, so many look for instant results, the next pill, the next diet craze, the next Genie Lamp, but it's not like that, it's time and you gotta make a commitment. Excellent!!

Maybe we aren't so phoooolish after all ;)

(de-lurk mode engaged)I have a way with words and I can turn a phrase through a serpentine... but the Enso post was..... dope. Seriously. Good work and exactly what I get when I make it.

Wakinyan4: "You can't give away what you don't have" is the first part of the riddle that ends "you can't keep it if you don't give it away". Good stuff. JTD

This post and comments put a huge smile on my face! When I tell people about CF I cannot encapsulate the feeling you get by being a part of this. This "culture" is a way of life and not some new years resolution or get in shape for bathing suit season gimmick. The people that make CF great is what sets us apart from any other place I've been a part of. This is the part I'm most proud of and the one that keeps me motivated everyday. I am incredibly fortunate to come to work everyday with people whose goal it is to push themselves, push and encourage others and to change their outlook on what is possible. Thank you for making this a great ride!
