Chris and Matt...PLEASE can we bring back the 5:30AM Thursday class...pretty please??? In the format of a "classic" Corps Fitness style please. I love my Mon. cross fit, I love my Wed. strength, and I love my Fri. KB...all something different, but I REEEAAAALLLY would love a CF-style early morning class. I see the pics from the evening classes with all the teamwork, and I miss that. But, I can't get to evening classes with all my kids' activities. Pretty please :)????!!!! With sugar on top???

It never ceases to amaze me how the positive energy of the group "wills" the individual forward and provides such encouragement as one would never consider quitting. Where else I ask is that the norm? I don't know of anywhere, but I know this; I am extremely grateful and thankful to be a part of this thing we acknowledge as CF! I have never met such folk with the heart, courage, fortitude, perseverance, and all-around toughness as this diverse bunch of "freaks" that come together for several hours a week and do the impossible without complaint!! I am proud to know every single one of you!! JJ

First off MH I am working on it and thank you for wanting to take my day of sleeping in away! Just want to make sure we can bring a crowd as last time it didn't pan out too well.I appreciate the feedback and Leah W will love you for it as well!!!!

Second, Johnnie your comments and the crew that makes CF great is one of the things I'm proudest of. When I started I never imagined the culture that would result and the feeling I get everyday going to "work" and being able to be in the company of such a great group of people. Not many people get to be this lucky and I am extremely fortunate! Thanks brother...

How about if we post morning pics, and then the evening people will be jealous?!:)

Agreed with CK. All the classes lend themselves well to the CF format...it's just a matter of #s...even an evening CF class isn't the same when 6 people show.

Completely agree with you JU. Best bunch of people around.

CK, maybe each week you could alternate in a CF style class to one of the morning classes. One week CrossFit, the next CF. Just a suggestion. We don't want you grumpy on Thursday nights because you had to get up early.

Sorry Chris...I DID think about making you have to get up early another morning :)...

I realize the #'s have to be there...just wanted to add my 2 cents and say that you can count on me in the headcount for who would show up! If it works, GREAT...if not, I understand. (but won't be happy...just kidding!)

Once the construction is over on 222 (which will probably be never!) I'll be back in on the morning classes. My 2 cents agrees with Bob in that you switch workouts since you have a "core" group of people who do attend on M-W-F...

Overheard at Corps Fitness (regarding the Tough Mudder)... "Yikes. If you want to do that just come over to my house. For $50 I will put a staple in your hand, hit you in the head with a 2 x 4 and light your underwear on fire. All while you are mowing my grass!" - Mike Lawrence

Yowsa! That pic is fantabulous!!!!

Re: class styles. Great suggestion to switching them up on M/W mornings. Even tho M/Th nights are scheduled as CF classes, we often do crossfit style workouts, like last night. I think the critical mass of attendees is what makes/breaks a CF class as opposed to a crossfit or strength class, where energy & vibeology aren't as necessary. (Me and Paula Abdul go way back...) S'all about the numbers like Sgt Kaag and Matt have suggested.

Melissa H. said...

So...you're saying I need to recruit more people to come to morning classes so we can get the same vibeology, Paula? Straight up? :)

Jan said...

Touche, Hazlett! More classes without necessarily more attendees might spread the numbers too thin for all classes at that time slot, not just the new one. That's why I thought Birthday Bob's suggestion to alternate in current classes was a good one. It took some time for Matt's T evening to get up to speed b/c it "competes" with M/Th 5:30p. But now, all 3 seem to do well. 'Coursin all this chatter might be moot since Kaag's the one paying the bills....I'm sure he'll figure something out!

BF: Happy Birthday, bro! I'm glad to join you in your 25 burpees!

MH/DJ: Totally agreed the new class should be "Straight Up: CF Dance"!

Bob said...

Matt, I am not a day over 24 burpees.....

Thanks everyone for the bday wishes.
