"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”

The last ride we did in Fruita was a 20 mile epic around the Western Rim, we got started late because I f'ed up the directions, so it was 1300 hours when we started and around 92F. It was a 4-hour ride and at about the 3.5 hour mark we were both like, I just want to get this done!! And I remember turning around and saying to "D', "This is the time of day when you find out what you are made of!" And then we just put the hammer down and kicked some Western Rim ass!! When we got back to the bike shop, they were concerned because we rode the trail in the middle of the day, and there wasn't any shade unless you found a large scrub of bushes, even before we got back they called my cell phone because they were worried! WTF? This is why I come to CF, because mere mortals would crack under extreme heat, and pressure, not CF'ers. There were high-fives all around at the shop and we went down the street to the "Hot Tomato" and drank ice-cold New Belgium pints of Sunshine and Blue Paddle, and said to each other, "WTF were they worried about?" Now that my PHOOLISH PHREAKS IS WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE TRAIL!!
