I've never been to a Marathon before yesterday and it was actually a pretty amazing experience. My daughter ran her first in Scranton, at the Steamtown Marathon and finished in 4 hours, 27 minutes, which was just an amazing accomplishment. But I got to also witness a truly selfless act at the finish. There was an older runner, I would say 60+ about 100 yards from the finish line and he stopped several times because of leg cramps and everyone just went nuts cheering him on. About 50 yards from the finish line he collapsed because of the cramps and there was a runner who was part of the "Navy Marathon Team", he stopped and wrapped the fallen guy's arm around his neck and picked him up, then helped him get across the finish line!! It was awesome! I thought you all would appreciate hearing about it, I believe the folks at CF would be of the same mindset as the midshipman!!
